500 Headlamp size question ?
« on: December 12, 2022, 11:02:16 AM »
Can someone advise me as to how motor cycle headlamps diameters are measured as I will most likely fit a complete LED unit into the original 500 frame & housing if I can rather than using an LED bulb in a conventional reflector.

Am I correct in thinking the 500 is a standard 7" unit that you can generally fit other brands of reflectors into?

Honda CB400 four super sport (first money pit)

I've got a Cibie Z beam in my 500 Ted, along with a good LED bulb, the beam pattern is as good as identical with the halogen, so if the present reflector is ok try a decent LED bulb first. There is a thread about it on the site with pics. http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php/topic,25595.msg234557.html#msg234557

I bought a pair of classic mini headlights for about £30. One fitted perfectly in my 550 without any problems.
