It was a Yoshi sounded brilliant, it replaced a Campbell Geometrics race reverse cone mega exhaust which sounded even better  ;D but was insanely loud. Also had a Yoshi cam plus a few other mods - Dresda swingarm, Konis, Rickman rear sets, open bellmouths, 750 tank, 2-4 style seat. Should never have sold it  :(

Bet the neighbours weren't as keen on the sound - they would use the word noise.

Ref the paint job it was the 70's  ;) Was a great bike, sold it and bought an XS750 didn't handle half as well as the 500, used far more fuel but was a great for touring.

Sunny today, half day off work (..to look after the kids...) so I took the opportunity to try to start my old Triumph 500, as it is being sold but I've been struggling to start it, so I haven't been happy showing i t to a prospective vendor. Anyway, after stripping and cleaning the Amal carb I still couldn't get fuel flow from the tickler (choke, for you youngsters), but eventually the wretched thing started (still no visible fuel at the tickler), so I leapt aboard and shot off around my test loop - 1 mile of roads around the village- got t the furthest away point and ..... stopped. So after a but if fiddling it dawned on me to open the fuel tank and look inside....of course, some Muppet drained it at the end of the summer to put petrol in an outboard engine. So after a nice push to the village garage for fuel I found that the tickler does still work and the bike is as good as ever, it just likes to have enough to drink! If it stays bright tomorrow I'll go out again and take a picture too.

I know, I haven’t ever forgotten to check before!

I had a friend years ago whose zxr400 ‘broke down’. She was in tears on the phone and we tried to talk her through problem solving, including lack of fuel and turning to reserve, which she swore she had. She finally came home on a large breakdown truck… at which point we could all see as the lorry pulled in that the rather large and obvious fuel/reserve tap hadn’t been turned to reserve. We had told her about it, but even the AA man hadn’t checked it!

Out and about today for a scootch in the ‘balmy’ 14 degrees, clear skies and bright sunshine. What a fab day. I vaguely covered the excuse to go and play out with having to to Halfraud’s to get some anti seize for the callipers on the van.

Got a sticky tight front!

Anyway, my 45 mile round trip to Wells, via Godney, Cheddar and associated. Fags stops en route was fab! Wells is only 9 miles from ours
Think I might have used the last half an hour out of my rear tyre, so that’s it before I start to do the shock n swing arm swap for this years jaunt.

Few out at the gorge and a few on the roads but surprisingly quiet really. A good soul restorative ride

Graham went out on the 750 K6 yesterday, supposedly to pop 1 mile up the road to fill her with fuel. 2½ hours and 100 miles later, he found his way home 😂😂😂😂. Like where you are Roo, the weather was stunning here yesterday and today, so I'm pleased he got out. I'm on decorating duties at the moment, so was confined to barracks 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oosh, decorating!I don’t do decorating, that’s a pink job.
When you’ve finished you then have to start and do it all again!
Sod that for job satisfaction!
Don’t mind a bit of top coat ‘gloss action’ though, strangely

What must have happened Julie is that several of the gas stations only had diesel so Graham had to keep searching

That and decorating’s  a crap job and a fate worse than a fate  worse than death he’d have stayed out if it was wet, I would have
Well done for accepting your confinement and making good use of your time

I’ve been hiding from the salt for the last few weeks, however it rained on Saturday and dried up again on Sunday. We too are decorating, and realised yesterday that we needed fine sanding paper, we only had the chunky stuff.

The trading estate where B&Q is can be a nightmare to get in and out of at the weekend, so it would be daft not to go on a bike. The Harley was nearest the garage door, I wheeled it out and saw the hanging wire from the unfinished indicator repair I’d forgotten all about. Next up was the CL450, despite not being on a trickle charger all winter, there is no drain from an alarm or anything so hi tech, and with a bit of coaxing it burst into life!

My first ride of 2023, it put a smile on my face as I nipped through the Sunday traffic.  :)
