Yep ... a Dyna ... I've had a few before and like them - I sold the Laverda as I just couldn't get on with the RH gear change ( I suspect if an only bike it would be fine) ... made a tidy profit on it though !!

Oddly enough the bloke I bought my 400 from had a J plated Harley Sportster with lots of added bling. Nearest I've ever ridden to a Harley  was a hired Virago in Crete. I loved the Ape Hangers and easy riding.

Then again I like the old film Easy Rider with Peter Fonda etc - so cool.

Due to frustration of bad weather yesterday and raving  tooth ache I decided to go for a wobble about on shagged tyres tyres and go shopping on the VFR. Due to come off the road for the back end swap and new exhaust system. Bit miffed as this one’s only done 170k!

Nothing lasts nowadays

Great looking VFR ROO. THE best bike Honda ever made. Ive got my 1999FiX stripped down at the moment to give it a good clean and check over. Ferret has sorted the electrical issues now (common on these) so hopefully it will stay the ultra reliable bike it has been for the past 24 years!

168400 ish.
The last clocks exploded upon impact when a gentle get off ensued when the front didn’t like a puddle of diesel and water on the French motorway near Troyes 10 or so years ago. It had about 99k on it then and she’s showing 69 and change now and they were brand new when fitted back in 2014.

Best bike I’ve ever had, just prepping the rear hub, swingarm and gubbins now ready to get her in the air and some new bits fitted.
I have however, just found out that the cartridge front parts for the forks are £680……….kin el!
That’s not happening this year then

''kin spiders Roo. That is a user isn't it. When I read the initial post I saw 170K as 17 (no glasses) and thought fair enough to have a moan on exhaust life.

Only VFR I have ridden was the first gear driven cam model which they over engineered after chocolate cam VF model. That was impressive even then.

One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Are those cartridge parts OEM Roo? Have you tried contacting Maxton, they are pretty good. Do not contact them via their contact mail, they never reply, phone them and they answer!
