No chance of a run today. Heavy rain all day, I'm building an ark instead. 🙄
That's a shame Gareth - a lovely day here in Somerset!  8)

It was Matt, bobbed down to a place called Watchet today up on the North Somerset coast for a wobble out, not been there before and just did a pin drop. The roads were ace if busy but a good shuffle about was had.
Apologies for not replying the other day, I didn’t hit send on the message

I don’t get any better do I!

Watchet harbour whilst juggling an Arai RX7RR  and a monster of a dribbly ice cream who’s visual appearance belayed it’s structural integrity and at this point was half way down my arm!

No, they tried to get some dosh out of me but I argued that there are are 6 free bike spaces and I was one of those bikes. He mentioned that there were over 25 bikes in the car park and they all couldnt be amongst the 6 free spaces and if need be he would put a ticket on all of  them if I didnt pay. I urged him to make a start but inofrmed him he best be sure he was a good runner as even in leathers, he had no chance of esacaping 25+ bikers that were baying for blood over his ridiculous car parking regime.

Needless to say, he toddled off and presumably told his Mum as about 10 mins later the cops turned up to say that somebody had been threatened and we should all move. As the attending plod was a biker who I've seen before he winked and just said that he was there in presence only and not to worry, just had to go through the motions etc.

What a crock. They want you to put 6 bikes in one car parking space (way too many), too close together to actually get on and off when crammed like that but then everyone has to pay per bike. meaning they want 6 tickets per car parking space............eeeeer, no thanks!
What is the law now apparently is to park up the hill in the gorge and walk down to get a cuppa!........REALLY?

They did offer us a fantastic scenario where we can park for free 400m up the gorge away from the coffee shop and the toilet where we wouldn't be an issue en masse. We can then walk down the gorge on the road (with no foot path), down to the cafe to get a brew, to then walk it back up and sit and drink it near our bikes at no charge................Perfect!

I really have no idea why people are so anti bike, we spend a fortune on coffee and burgers etc, dont leave a spot of rubbish, there are no tab ends about and we always park efficiently and considerably for everyone else , we never have any problems with anybody but it appears that we are bikers so cant be trusted and need to be out of  the town. Incredible.

Saying that  and taking all sides of the subject into consideration most of us have comeup with the same attitude.

I'll park where I want and I'll very much, do as I please!

I suspect the public perception is bikers are Hells's Angels.

:) My machine is named Florence so I guess it's Florence and the Steve.  Doesn't have quite the same ring to it.  ;D

Roo, that is basically the same story I had heard. I really don't get their reasoning. West Bay and Weymouth seem to be hotting up on this as well....
