HONDA CB 500 GENUINE HONDA MAIN 100 SIZE JETS.

Good Afternoon

I am asking if any one is breaking a set of carbs for a Honda CB500 627Bs, I am looking for a set of 4 main jets size 100 and a set of 4 idle jets size 40. I been told that you can get new jets from a company in Canada but they are not as good as they could be, So I am looking for anyone who is breaking a set of carbs or has a spare set of Honda original jets I could purchase.
Muttley's carbs unfortunately have been well messed with over the years with incorrect parts and washers etc missing or wrongly fitted this will account for the difficulty in starting and top end as the carbs have had smaller jets fitted for some reason both mains and idle.

If anyone can help me out I would be most grateful for any help

Hi Nigel,
You could give Steve at 400/4 bits a try - I only found out yesterday that he has parts for 500/550 as well as many others - easy guy to deal with and many on here have bought from him.  I think his email is spares@400fourbits.co.uk.  Someone else will chime in if I'm wrong.

I have just bought #103 and #40 for my 550f.

I’ve found the NRP sourced stuff fine for main and idle jets. Also good for float valves. I’ve not tried for emulsion tubes and needles, but I’m guessing thats where most potential problems arise…just saying. And I’m not saying don’t try NRP for those too.

From the perspective of having a decent set of original brass components, and that being desirable in not discarding for something else, then with known problem parts that have been bodged, buying new is a sensible step to then assess if you're happy with the accuracy, quality etc.
