There's two different shape inside the caliper (those you have here) are single or double flare type.

Taper, like a funnel shape, used on virtually all bleed nipple to close off simply against that same taper on the nipple. Can also use "double flare" hard brake pipes without mod, most car caliper are like this for both ports.

Single flare pipes require the inverse in calpier to seal, so protruding funnel shape.

They may have made the original with removable "funnel" shape to facilitate use as double disc as you'd have to swap input with bleed to keep the brake lines symmetrically designed,  or you'd get one caliper with bleed front orientation and one rear when paired.

You'll need more input from Bryan, Ken etc on Honda's parts type than I can give, or others that have previously done it.

I make up the pipes to suit things I'm working with using a flare tool but you've already got that fitting which you need to match on recipient part.

Just to confuse you more whilst the pipe is the same size metric and imperial flares are different especially where thenut pushes on the pipe, just going in garage to look for an easy one to find Roo

Fair do's and thankyou. It seems a shame to bin a caliper for the sake of a tiny insert but if it's not available then that might have to be the case. At least I've grasped the info which is half the battle. Top info as ever, thankyou., :)

It's probably not appropriate as you've already bought the hard connectors Roo, but the banjo arrangement for anyone doing this may offer solution that's intrinsically neat to get the line in with whatever flare exists

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

This a bicycle one (couldn't find a decent photo of motorcycle detail) that has the outer surface of the hole finished to accommodate banjo and copper washers to seal without flare interaction.

Many rear caliper use this type (moto-X particularly) as its low profile and less likely to snag and damage the pipe in use. Same as master really.

Can also be used with two pipes (slim banjo in pair at mc) right the way through and no joints etc.
