Hello Everyone
« on: June 19, 2023, 06:00:40 AM »
Good morning Everyone,
Bike History: Puch Maxi (I know, not really a bike but how I started), Yamaha AS1, Honda CB125T (1st New Bike), CB500/4, CB500/4, Suzuki VX800, Suzuki TL1000R.
TL was last bike, sold in 2000, after which kept a Cabriolet car in garage as easier taking wife on tours, luggage etc.
April 2020 took early retirement, Jan ‘22 diagnosed with incurable Cancer, 6 weeks later my beautiful wife of only 52 years of age, totally unexpectedly and shockingly Died of sudden CardiacArrest right here at home in front of me. Torrid 12 months of grieving and some pretty unpleasant Cancer Treatment, now in remission and determined to get the best out of life before it returns and treatment cycle starts all over again.
Seriously considering buying another 500/4 for summer rides to sons to see grandchildren, local pleasure rides and possible local country show on stand.
Live life to the full ‘cos you never know!………..Ride safe everyone.
PEDE

Welcome to the sohc community - reading your brief background was tragic to put it mildly.
You are not alone there are others here who have experienced loss and have fought cancer.

Welcome.

Think everyone has said it all, you have had it all on. I think getting back on one of these old Honda's is a great idea. Will give you loads of fun and bring back good memories I'm sure.

Taka care!
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

500/4 is a perfect bike for you, as I'm sure you'll remember. It's light, easy to manoeuver and any parts are reasonably easy to find. The 400 would probably be too small and the 550 is harder to find parts for if it needs any, so there are fewer fully restored generally. Try and find a really good one, the last thing I think you'll need is to be fixing it.

Good luck and lets hope the remission lasts and lasts.
