Replacement seat for 750K0
« on: July 03, 2023, 07:02:51 PM »
Does anyone know of any current suppliers of a decent repro seat for a 750K0?

There are a couple that I have found, both with plastic bases, a metal would be preferred but would also be happy with a proven quality plastic.

The ones I’ve found so far are CMS and MonkyDax, does anyone have any experience of either?

Cheers

Greg

Yamiya have them on special offer this month as well - they’re the best repro out there by far. But - not cheap, and shipping is expensive….but it’s the old adage, you get what you pay for…

Great, I will get one ordered.

I do have the original red foam seat but it’s not the most comfortable and this way I can preserve it as well.

You weren’t wrong about the shipping charges… That was a surprise!

You will also attract customs and import duties, all adds up in the end  ;)

If you ‘are chosen’ by customs.

I’ve been quite lucky and haven’t been selected for import tax on the last 6 or so items I’ve bought from Japan, States etc. keep yer fingers crossed. All of mine were in excess of £300 too so they could have had me proper. Bit of a lottery I’ve found…….

I was pretty sure PMC in Japan used to do a seat very similar to the Yamiya one but I can't find it on their site any more just the foam. JamesH may know.
Watch out you don't end up with special 'low' seat version that Yamiya do for the K0 ... don't ask me how I know this.

I did see that low seat when I was looking last night. I didn’t know what it was so decided to play safe and avoid it! I haven’t ordered yet but so far it’s looking like the obvious choice.

I do always seem to be chosen… first time for everything though I suppose, maybe it’s my turn to get lucky?

Speaking of duties, I received notification from CMS stating there is no extra duties to be paid on goods sent to UK. And the last order I submitted came very quickly compared to past.??
