1978 CB550 - £3000
« on: July 10, 2023, 10:59:59 PM »
Here we have for sale my beautiful 1978 Honda CB550k.

This machine rides beautifully, and is a testament to Honda's incredible build quality and longevity.

There are 12 former owners on the V5C. The elderly gentleman I purchased the bike from had a family business restoring and maintaining historic race cars from the 1920s-40s as well as an extensive classic motorcycle collection, all stored in his workshop. As a result serviced the bike on his own - due to this, I unfortunately have no service history, but the beautiful original condition of the bike tells me that it's been cherished it's entire life.

The bike currently has almost 36,000 miles on the odometer.

Collection from London. Please drop me a message on 07491202440 to arrange a viewing.

Thank you for looking!

If you are going to take advantage of the audience offered by this forum, the least you could do is offer a discount over your eBay listing.

Black indicators
Mirrors
Horn
Adjustable levers
Master cylinder
Aftermarket shocks
Engine casing Allen bolts
Rear light - that's a tough one to forget to bolt on, or is it on the other side?

If you zoom in, it's a bit unclear but I think there is a tiny Panda bear doing a handstand in the background....in front of the chap in the coat..

I didn't ask for an assessment on the bikes originality.

All original parts do come with the bike. If the new owner would like to restore it back to original, and has 60 minutes of free time, that is an option.

Apologies if it's bad etiquette posting both here and on ebay.

Not necessarily bad etiquette as others do, but some discount is normally offered.

You will always get comments on originality. The custom builders on here put up with it!

Me - I love an original, but none of my 500/550s back in the day lasted more than a couple of weeks without being changed in some way (see avatar)

The problem was you described it as beautiful original condition, which whilst very nice it isnt so hence the comments.

I believe every one has different tastes and is entiteled to do what they want with there property, and that makes it worth less in other peoples eyes so be it.
Glad you have all the original bits to go with it that adds value

FWIW I think it looks a very tidy 550 as it is with  period adaption with the bars etc.

The modifications are a personal choice - having the parts to put it back to standard make it look fair value imho.
