Brake pedal spindle
« on: July 24, 2010, 07:33:29 PM »
Hi all,
Rebuild nearly complete of a '72 500/4 frame with '78 550 motor, but having fitted 4 into 4 exhausts from a 550 K3, I now need to tinker around with the brake pedal so it clears the outboard pipe, does anyone know if there is a longer spindle fitted to any other bike that may ease my problem. I need the spindle to be 30mm longer than standard, or is the spindle from the K3 longer to get over the difference in the exhausts??
Hope someone can help before I go cutting and reshaping the pedal.
Thanks
Rick

Do you mean this? If so the one from my K3 is 105mm long.

You would be better off selling the K3 exhausts that are made of unobtainium for lots of money and buying the 500 sort. But if you insist the only way is to cut and shut the brake pedal in 2 places to give a Z bend so use an old mangled one as they are getting hard to get now as well
