I took mine off when I first bought the bike in 1976 as it ground too easily, it's still in the loft, I will have to put a big padlock on the loft hatch now.

When I bought my F1 it had a rusty old Dunstall mega fitted, however the seller produced the original silencer from the depths of his shed.

Apparently the orginal silencers and extended rear mudguards were the first items to be removed back then. 
Motorcycling is Life, anything B4 or after is just waiting...

Yes my original rear mudguard was a metal one with two flutes in it to catch water and corrode, so it was first of all modified with drains and then replace with an F2 plastic one. It's in a drawer in the garage, I keep meaning to strip and paint it.

  Before I post the link  I did offer £500 and  could have had it for £700  but I would have only squirreled iit away. Hopefully it will go on a bike that
  needs it and not just be  put aside.
