And what's the verdict? Does it look the part? And I know Ken didn't like it because of the metal clips.

I haven't fitted mine yet, it's on the list of jobs to do in winter. Quality is excellent. I've seen it fitted to someone elses tank and it looks very good.

Next time you're here Ash, remind me and I'll show you the trim. The Trim that DS is selling is definitely from Italian Mold Lab.

And what's the verdict? Does it look the part? And I know Ken didn't like it because of the metal clips.

I disliked the metal clips because the clips scratched the paintwork, they were also made of bare metal, maybe black passivated, as the trim design meant the U shape held water the clips would rust, this rust then passed onto the tank via the scratches they'd made as they were fitted.

I thought the better solution would be to silicon the trim on, mask off the tank and then peel off as the silicon is curing. Keeps the water out of the U shape and no scratches and no rust.

I also found the covering of the chrome would discolour over time and tended to part company with the trim. Not 100% sure what it was, some sort of plastic shielding

A UK guy on F.B. confirms that these are indeed the same as Italian Mold Lab. Wonder if DS is paying the supplier with credit notes  ;D

When I had my 500 tank painted I was thinking of having the trim line painted white - wish I had now.
