CB360 Grip Side 50316-369-000
« on: October 14, 2023, 11:17:28 AM »
Hi Folks,

My CB360 does not have a side handle for pulling the bike up to the centre stand.  One of the POs who restored and powder coated (heavily.grrr!) the frame had snapped the corroded bolt in the rear frame and couldn't be bothered with removing it before coating.  I have just managed to drill it out and am looking for a handle for it.

I'm not too fussed as to condition.  Shiny would be nice, but rusty can be painted black.  I would like to be able to raise the bike without breaking my fingers.

Cheers,

Jerry

Sorry,

Missed those replies....been busy.

Thank you for your help here.

I have just measured the dimensions on the 360. Difficult to get right by eye and a ruler, but close enough I think.

From the shock eye centre to the frame mount hole centre is about 157mm. The offset from the frame is 43mm.

The handle is of course a specific 369 part, but there may be one close enough to adapt one way or another.

I did find one in stock on eBay Germany, but at an unattractive price and of course with VAT shipping it get ridiculous.

If push comes to shove I'll fabricate something, but it wouldn't be pretty  ;D

I saw my mate from York at Stafford yesterday (anyone else on here go?) And I asked him if he has anything and he just messaged me with this.

Centres look about right but it's been totally stripped of chrome ready for rechroming. He wants a tenner plus postage if it turns out to be suitable. Seeing him tomorrow so can pick up. Also going to Prestige Electroplaters soon and could include with my stuff or at least get a quote if you wish. There again it may be incorrect... out at the mo' so unable can't compare with ones online.

Thank you Ash.

It looks like it would need a lot of work to get a decent re-chrome though.  It is quite pitted and likely to cost quite a bit I would think

I reckon I could make that work but just bead blast prime and paint would do nicely.  The bike is nice, but not going in for concourse!

How do I pay you/him?  I can do PayPal of course

Cheers, Jerry

I saw my mate from York at Stafford yesterday (anyone else on here go?)

I went yesterday too Ash. Pity we couldn't meet up! Really enjoyed it but wasn't looking for anything particularly. My first time at the show. Had a great chat with a CR750 expert from chester (Paul McGhie) - that I bought a CR750 replica petrol tap off a few years back without ever meeting him and randomly started talking to him - small world!
Also speaking to a guy on the CB1100R that I went on an 1100R owners club run out when the club first started. It is indeed a small world!

Current Bikes:-
Honda CB750K2 (1975)
Honda CB500K2 (12/1972)
Honda CR750 Replica (1972)
Honda CB350K0 (1969)
Kawasaki ZZR1100D3 (1995)
Kawasaki ZZR250 (1990) Project (Going on eBay ASAP)

I also visited Stafford Show with my BiL (Dave) weather was dry so took a few pics of bikes that caught my eye.
I saw a few Maico Letta Scooters up in the Gallery - really poor condition examples not one with the original screen intact - so sad.

Saw this lovely little Honda 150.

Hi folks,

Thanks for the help and to Ash for finding something suitable.

Problem solved.  I have modified the grip a little as it was a few mm short and it is now painted.

If anyone ever comes across a nice shiny chrome one I would be very pleased to have a look.

Cheers,
