Anyone know what happened to Max (AMX92)?
« on: October 16, 2023, 02:02:46 AM »
All of a sudden he seems to have gone. Anyone know any reason why that should be?

Max in case you weren't aware was the maker of stainless steel parts for the SOHC bikes we all love.

He was interested in doing a little project for me that would have also benefitted a lot of other members but he profile is no longer active.

If it's private could you PM me and let me know, not asking for the reason but just an explanation.

I noticed he no longer lists the 550 spacers on his eBay page  unless I’m mistaken.
500/4 in 79. No bikes for 30 years. 750/4 in 2013, 550/4 in 2023. Also own  R1100GS, RD350LC YPVS , Triumph Street Triple, Yamaha XT250

He's definitely on eBay although I didn't know it at the time! I bought a used camshaft last week and asked the seller if he had any starter gear cush rubbers, it turned out to be Max! I've asked him to keep a set of the clutch rubbers for me. He had a few items listed on eBay last week.

I'd forgotten he was making the clutch basket rubbers as well. He'll be missed as those were handy things to have access to.

Same rubbers as the 500/550 Dave. IF we are talking about the primary drive sprocket rubbers and not the clutch basket rubbers which were never available separately.

Just had an email from Max, I now know the reason for him leaving, I'll not divulge it unless he agrees to it being said though.

He is however still going to have a look at making some 500/550 carb bracket linkage rods in stainless.

Sad to hear Max has left the site - I had the rear brake hub thingy in SS from Max as well as wheel spacers.
I thought I had his e-mail address but looks like I lost it when I replaced my laptop.
Hope it's not a health issue.
