Locked threads
« on: December 18, 2023, 07:13:10 AM »
Working with stainless steel at my current job I  have had lots of locked threads  ;D .. Ha ha the gall of it Ashimoto ;D ;D

However, a question for SteveD ... how many threads have you had to 'Lock' during your tenure of this forum? Seen a couple this year but don't remember many in previous years?

A lot of it goes over my head anyway . It's all Double-Dutch to me  :D :D :D :D
“Alright friends, you have seen the heavy groups, now you will see morning maniac music. Believe me, yeah. It’s a new dawn.” Grace Slick, Woodstock '69 .. In the year of the Sandcast.

Did you ever come across 'Duralac' Ash?  We used it at Brough to prevent galling - still have a tube here - we called it Chinese knacker lacquer.

'It's all Double Dutch to me' - is that an expression widely used? I've not heard it said since I left 'Ull, my older Sister often said it.

Half a dozen in the 16 years Ash.

I dish out warnings every now and then but only lock or delete stuff if I get a complaint from a “non-combatant”

I’ve only ever banned one member.

My parents are from  Cardiff and often said things were Double Dutch to them. I think it was a saying of the age.

I'm more of a gobbledygook kind of guy.

Please don’t delete the thread -it’s a valuable history of the rebuild for me and  I’ve tried to put in links that others might find useful. Happy to start another thread as my rebuild continues if that’s ok

Should've gone to Specsavers Ted, it was Duralac, although I would imagine that two spoonfuls would have had the same effect 🙈

Steve is fair minded Dave, if he thinks the thread needs sorting out he'll just delete the offending posts but leave the rest there in my experience.

As yet I haven't looked at your thread today, I need to brace myself before I do  ;D

Well seems I was wrong, shame on you Steve  :o

Might be Bryan but it's Daves thread not mine or Delta (nearly said the idiot then but thought better of it  ;D ;D)

I've asked Steve to just trim the posts off it and allow Dave to has his record of his bike back again, which Steve has kindly said he'll have a look at it.
