Primary shaft removal.
« on: January 08, 2024, 09:53:01 PM »
Im currently stripping the engine and following the haynes manual for it. Ive been trying to remove the primary shaft but it feels like the nut needs a hell of a lot of force to undo.

Is there a way to hold it in place? I've still got the pistons connected and it seems like they're holding it in place when I try to undo it.

Whats the best way to undo the bolt holding the primary shaft in?

Good tip Bryan with the penny! And that one looks as if it has been in about a few clutch teeth Nigel! Take it that’s a typing error on the price?

Must be nonesance price, we had an almost mint  presentation set from back in 1971 face value was less than a £1 issued by the banks & Post Office IIRC. We gave ours to my daughter a couple of decades ago with a load of farthings & a Guernsey 50p coin.
