Gearbox shifter drum

Does anyone know how to check if this shifter drum is the early one or later one as I can’t find any identification number on it it’s from a k2 engine

That looks to me like the later modified drum. The reason I say that is that the modified ones had a wider point where the gears were in the midst of changing. That is explained very poorly but I have a photo of the one that came out of my K3. Modified to give smoother change between gears as far as I’m aware.

I thought there was a bulletin on that in alladins cave which had pics on it

No problem mate, i managed to collect most of the technical and service bulletins years ago which Ash scanned and put in either his dropbox or alladins cave, same as my very early parts books
