Hi It was a forced stop, a mate and i where on our way back from the Lizard Rally 1982 at the Lizard Cornwall.
We got to near to Perth and the weather turned on us so filled up with fuel at the last pet station as it was at night and no more stations open till we got to Elgin. we left Perth it was not to bad for Scotland so we carried on. It got worse and to the point that i could not see the road any more and vis was a few feet in front of the front wheel.
I found a lay by that was big ie not just a by the side of the road and we put up the tent and sat out the night. In the morning i got a lift to a phone box and called the RAC and they sent a bloke out in a landrover to pick us up we load bike and us in and the back to garage in Blair Atholl. The bike was soiled ice so it was defrosted in front of them big hot air heaters got it started and we went on our way back to Lossie late for work got in about mid day boss was ok about it. It was a big lay by northbound on the A9 just north of Dainaspidal.
