Honda Hornet 750

(1/3) > >>

Matt_Harrington:
I suppose this bike qualifies for this section as the 750 is actually a SOHC!!

Anyone got one of these and can give me their thoughts on it?

Considering a new bike in the spring and it is one on the list (together with the Triumph Tiger 660 and Triumph Speed 400)

Johnny4428:
Exciting times Matt with the prospect of a new bike! Like the look of the Hornet personally. Having said that I would have either of these models.

Matt_Harrington:
Indeed - no hurry but defo need something a little lighter as I put a few years on!!

SteveD CB500K0:
I traded my Tiger 900 for a 660. The 900 was too big and I wanted a 120° triple for the smoother ride.

Not regretted it.

I've heard good reports on the Hornet Matt. Have you considered the NT? A mate of mine who is a bike mechanic and who loves his sports bikes (I bought his Blackbird from him a few years ago, I still regret selling it) bought the NT and he thought he would keep it for a year and sell it on. Five years later and he loves it and wouldn't consider swapping it for anything else. He's in his late 50’s and loves the riding position and the storage space in the dummy fuel tank and it's Japan built and has a fantastic quality of build.
He thought the 54bhp wouldn't be enough but it's the way it delivers it for real world riding is what he likes most about it. Fuel economy is up in the 70-80mpg territory and servicing is a breeze with the engine tilted forward with screw and locknut valve clearances.
I seriously considered chopping in the VFR but the dealer only offered £1500px and I didn't go through with the deal.
I would book a test ride on the Hornet and the NT and see what you think.
