Looking for some decent fuel pipe....
« on: January 22, 2024, 09:54:55 PM »
As above....i bought some of this but its shit and has gone rock hard....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154451339321

I looked for some samco fuel hose but the smallest i can see is 6.5mm the 400/4 is 5mm

Could someone point me in the right direction please...?! red would be nice but if its gotta be black for the sake of quality so be it!

Cheers all

Andy

Have a look on Planet Silicone on ebay, they definitely do the right size in black but I don't know if they do other colours.

What internal bore size did you use for the 400/4 main fuel pipe Matt? Did you fit any carb bowl overflow pipes and if so what bore size did you use for those?

Genuine Honda hose available in 1 metre lengths from D. Silvers in the proper original fitment sizes.

Not cheap, but fit and forget.

Never goes hard.

If it never goes hard we wouldn’t be replacing it 😀

Replaced my original genuine Honda fuel hose because P.O. had chopped it to fit an inline fuel filter.

Was almost 45 years old and still plenty flexible. ;)

You need the 5.4mm ID for the fuel pipe and 3.5mm ID for the overflow pipes.

I've bought some fuel pipe from here, very quick delivery as well👍.
I have another related question, the 400/4 has a plastic pipe that sits over the main fuel pipe, it is only a very short length and protects the fuel pipe from the main fuel tap and over the carbs.
Does anyone know what size pipe this should be? Additionally, there is also a coil sprung metal protector over the fuel pipe protector. Were BOTH protectors fitted or was it one or the other? DSS sells the coil protector but the colour of it is like a rusty bronze, should it actually be BZP (yellow or silver) or chrome?

I have one here Dave that I can measure for you. It's sold but the customer hasn't collected yet. This is an original Honda 400/4 one.
