Are CB550s cheaper to buy than CB400Fs? Some of them looked very cheap to me.

Possibly but DK do some pretty underhand robbing of all the rare or expensive parts on the bikes they sell on Ebay.  When I was looking for my 550 nearly all the DK ones were missing crucial parts, not as cheap as they might appear when you come to buying those bits back...from DK!

If you have been following BAT in the US the CB400f's are getting huge crazy money... $13333 and $14750 in the last 2 weeks. another one is listed ending in 5 days. Its been exciting to watch. I just bought mine for $2400 a couple months ago. running/riding and very presentable.
500 and 550s are not fetching high dollar like the 400Fs
