The price of idiot light cases
« on: February 07, 2024, 08:36:44 PM »
I screwed the lid of my Pilot Light Console back on and a bit too tight as well, that awful sound of cracking had me stop and just in time, nothing I couldn't fix thank gawd. I just went on a hunt for the two plastic cases the lights sit in and I was astonished. None to be found on DSS and another place ask for £95.oo  :o  ... a guy could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas for that much,  ;D or get new shock absorbers instead etc etc. How the hell can two bits of plastic with a sticker on cost that much?

Yeah, silly money. Mine is repaired with plastic weld and disguised with paint.

I needed the top bit for one of my 550s as the screw points were broken away. CB500T bits tend to be cheaper but don't have the oil light but is basically the same bit of plastic. Bought one and changed the jewels and the top sticker.
