Always wondered, what is the purpose of the link pipe between the top and bottom pipes near the ends?
I know in the late 60s, Triumph linked the exhaust on their twins,

I think to increase the expansion capacity, to help breathing and maybe making quieter,

The Honda ones are similar, but appears to be much further along the exhaust pipes,

Does it make a difference?

Hopefully those with more information will explain

IIRC are such "balancing" ports intended to increase low end torque... dunno if this also applies when they're that far down the line though...
The ST1100 has them in the down-pipes, right below where they attached to the heads; would look odd on those /4 engines...

I wonder if she would believe me if I say I was the victim of a scam.

I could tell her I ordered her a grands worth of jewellery and all I got was some old exhaust pipes  ;)

Correct Bryan. If I had a few pennies leftover I would buy another Handbag not jewellery though 😁😁😁

I ordered the exhaust over the phone yesterday. I jokingly said to the lady at Delkevic I’m dead when the wife finds out.

She replied that they’ve already had a guy in this week to collect in person and pay in cash so his wife doesn’t know how much he’s spent.
