The electric switches that turn then fan on are notorious for crudding up on th GL bikes and if they are the same that could be it, they are also ,i think, in the earth side of the fan so grounding the wire should turn the fan on

Already on the list Bryan and you’re completely right on the fault, same on the VFR’s.
Apparently is a common fault across a heap of manufacturers, especially the Suzuki’s and Aprilia’s. Thanks for the heads up tjough pal.

combination of that so the fans working now and the thermostat was stuck open so ordered a new one today, pig to get to as its under the injector bank so had to dig deep but in a bowl of warm water, no movement............think I got it.

Cheers though Bryan, as ever, you need to remove everything to get to the bit thats shagged ;D
