I've been thinking about a clube to join for a while and looked at the VJMC website, but it just doesn't \"pull me in\".

The site needs some 'umph!!' Unless there is more behind for members.

I don't actually know anyone who is a member, \"Is there anybody out there\" who is a member and what's it like ....? two potential members here.

I'm a member of this club & enjoy meeting other people who have the same interests as myself.
My Exup 1000 is now a classic insured bike, but I still enjoy talking/sharing my past ownership of Honda fours.
My local place is West Kingsdown near to Brands Hatch, which meets every first Thursday at the Gamecock.
Last year they had a very successful joint meeting from the groups of the South-East at Rykas Box Hill location. It would be good to see how many people from here manage to attend later this year.

Post here when you know the date and we'll try to stir up some SOHC interest!

Yes i might be up for a meet up box hill /west kingston or where ever it be, but i must say on visiting the VJMC website i found it lacking in any current activity, and out of date, really unappealling. plus they want a fair few quid to join up as well

It doesn't inspire confidence does it?

However, as a club/charity I expect that they struggle to get somebody to look after their website (I do a few and it is very time consuming...)

Theres not much on the website but I gather, being a new member, that alot of it is done through their magazine. Joined after giving the local area organiser a ring to find out what was going on in my area. Think it is good to go for runs with like minded people on similar bikes, the guys at work all have crotch rockets and I think they will lose me after the first mile  :o

I can imagine running a club is a thankless task, and no doubt a whole heap of time, work and money, i have never really been a club person but i am starting to see the advantages of joining some clubs,

I used to be a member but I am now a member of the Vintage Motorcyle Club and I find it suits me better.  Although the majority of the members bikes are British there is a growing interest in Japanese bikes and I have not encountered any snobbery.  It also means I get very cheap insurance.

Had the latest mag through the post today & the 10th May has been set for the Box Hill get together of the South-East regions. This is being organised by Paul Turk (01634-241640) of the Kent section.
