Selling CB550F1 The Carrot
« on: March 12, 2024, 11:11:16 AM »
Hi All,

Unfortunately I will now be selling my CB550F1.

I know it’s going to end up just sitting here for long periods and it needs to be used.

It’s a UK bike from new and has had a load of work done on it (big folder of receipts etc).

V5 in my name and registered as Historic for road tax purposes.

The bike rides very well and is in very good condition. That said things can always be improved.

I have had Rex from Victory Motorcycles in North London go through it top to bottom plus full service and MOT.

Only done about 50 miles since rebuild so still needs bedding in. (I’m trying to do this).

Currently running with foam individual pods and is jetted accordingly.

Carbs very recently cleaned and balanced.

I have unmarked/unpainted new side covers on it and have a couple of spare sets (1 set original) that need stripping etc and will throw those in. These were made by a guy on eBay and look/fit well albeit a bit tight.

There are two batteries one gel (came with the bike and holds good charge) one AGM (new).

Loads of spare fuses and a few instrument bulbs.

Tail/brake light has LED fitted and will throw in a spare bulb.

New fuse box just fitted.

New electronic ignition set.

This is not a project bike and is ready to ride.

I’m not in a rush to sell and will ride it when I can.

£4000.

Click pic to see more.

I thought site policy on items for sale was the inclusion of a price?

Although I'm not looking for a bike at the moment some photos would be good as would the asking price. Can't tell anyone who might be in the market what a nice bike it is without the details.

A photo paints a thousand words.

Hi Ted

Good point! My fault didn’t realise a price was policy. I will adjust accordingly.

As for the pictures I’m struggling to upload them? I’m not great at this stuff and am a bit confused.

Every time I try to upload it times out?

The picture file may be too large? 3mp is max size for this site, no more than 5 photos per post.

Upload your existing photos to your laptop/pc and click on the image. Fro the menu bar you can resize the image via a dialog box drawbar. I normally reduce mine to 50%. Once you have done this it will ask you if you want to save the image. Click OK and it will drop back into the same photo folder. You can then upload the image onto the forum 👍

Thanks Dave all new to me! Will give it a go.

I've tried at all sizes and it just says site cannot be reached?

Must be an error somewhere as I am well below the 3000KB limit when trying to post?

For the time being if anyone is interested PM me with an email address an I will fire some pics over.

I use Flikr website  (free) no file reduction needed just post the BBCode off the Photostream that way folk can zoom in on the original if its public- easy enough for me as a non-geek 75 year old.

You register on the Flikr site, uploading is straightforwards just follow the instructions, you end up with your pics loaded onto the photostream section then go to  tab under "YOU" in the drop down menu, click on the photostream, click on your photo, bottom right second item like an arrow (share photo) click on that, new drop down white box click on far right tab BBCode, select the size you want to post original is easiest) copy the details & paste onto here. It becomes easier every time plus you have a free back up.
