Regulator Rectifier

Regulator Rectifier has anyone changed to all in one like pic my regulator seem to be faulty
Honda 90ss, Cb250k1 supper sport,
Cb400 four, CB750k7, Cb550, Cb750f2n,
Cb750k2

I fitted a solid state unit,

About 8 years ago

Seems to work perfectly

I looked at one of those during my 400 build - decided against as there will be some different/ new wiring connection needed. I just tinkered with the regulator to raise the voltage a tad.

The points are badly pitted what is the best way to clean or can they be changed that’s why I thought it would be better to change to a all in one they say it’s a derect change over

I cleaned my contacts up using a nail board to remove the high spots.

I fitted the David Silver combined regulator/rectifier to my CB750 K2 around four years ago. Although I don't have the bike any longer it behaved perfectly in the three years that I ran with it.

Even for someone like me, who finds it hard to change a light bulb without causing another problem, it was simplicity itself to fit.

After I cleaned my regulator points the voltage output was actually a tad higher so I changed nothing.
Can't remember the actual figures now it was a couple of years ago.

Just cleaning the "pip" off shouldnt alter much if anything
