rear sets?

anyone have and hints or tips on making rear sets? ive looked at bolt ons and in my eyes i dont think they would blend in as-well as a welded on 'custom' job.
is it best to get a set off another bike and then make plates etc to fit or just make from scratch? plus is the position to preference or is there a set area which works best?
any help appreciated, cheers

For position you've really got to sit on it with bike clothing and boots on to decide on final details and comfort / realistic useability.

On my 750 F2 I modified the standard alloy plates to mount relocated rearset footpegs. I put the right footrest into the end of the brake pivot shaft. This agve about two inches rearward & about a half-inch upwards.

You could try seeing if a set of F2 plates would fit your undisclosed model.
