Looks like a fairly straight F2 and last of the SOHC 750 line. 1978 manufactuer sounds right for last production run as far as I'm aware and maybe sold in 79 as run out stock.

I like these and there's some good ones building up on this site so you're in similar company.

Looks like you have bought something nice to ride.

Brakes are usually quite good, just a really good clean if nothing badly wrong gets the calipers moving freely and able to easily pass the MOT.

Good morning and welcome to the website.

I must say that is a fine looking machine.  Personally, I would get to the MOT station and start riding it, no further action required.

this is the sticker under the seat so still not sure what yr she is

unless the seat has been changed ??? or a sticker has been applied for fun ??

and the frame no is 1011658 and is only 7 letters long

so it could be an early one upgraded ???

All the details that are visible in the photo (except paint colourand front mudguard) brakes, wheels, forks, carbs etc look to be just straight F2 and I don't think they changed in spec during short production run so I guess it's not critical what year it is.

No knowledge of the sticker but it suggests it was inspected first in july 77 as I read it, someone should be able to help you with the frame number though if you need to be more specific.
