Paint work and Exhaust
« on: November 11, 2010, 04:42:14 PM »
Hi all,

I wonder if anybody can help me, I'm looking for a suitable black paint for a Cb650z. The bike is at present in a badly painted blue by the previous owner and I want to change it to black as it was originally. Does anybody know of a suitable paint code that may be similar?

Secondly I need to change the rotten motad exhaust and I have been looking at the Marshall deep tone and the two Marvin sets. Does anybody have any recommendations about which of these products would be a suitable or better replacement.

many thanks

Dave

If you just want black, ask your painter for a good modern gloss black and don't worry too much about paint codes.

As for exhausts, the 650 came with a 4-2 originally so a 4-1 might look a bit naff. The Motad will be cheap and quiet. Marshall Deeptone is a hooligan exhaust. Don't know about the Marvins.

Marvings are well finished, nice pipes. The 4-1 race pipe is a bit (a lot?) 'wake the neigbours' but the 4-2 silencer sets are pretty much like standard.
