Looks brilliant. Have just started a 78 F2 the same colour (well the log book says blue!) Hope it turns out the same. Well done.

The F2 looks really nice Pete, I do think it's one of the best looking SOHC Honda made especially in that colour.

A friend still has his which he bought new in early 1980 and some nice pictures of it that someone else took with an Olympus OM1 camera in that era.

Remember when they were new the press and opinion were slightly cold on it but I think they were wrong then and particularly now as it looks superb and has stood the test of time well, you must be proud to ride out on it after all the work you've put in.

Thanks for the compliments, it is not a concours restoration or show winning just a good example of what a used one would look like after a few years of use, it is just how i like my bikes, tidy but used, and i enjoy riding it as much as the k1 , it is staying in my ever growing collection of bikes for a long time

UK Pete, That's a nice looking bike!  ;D

I especially like the blue paint, is that a UK market color?

Here in the USA the '77 F was available in either Red or Black.

European models were blue and black in 1977, i think red came in 78, not 100% sure though

Blimey this place is just full of memories..!! When I was racing my Honda 4's very early eighties, my sidekick - come mechanic, come financier - BODGER (Mark) went down to NCK (North Coventry Kawasaki) and bought a 1979 'T' plate exactly the same colours as yours Pete. That could be the bike...it had been traded for some new Kawa and was mint.

When tuning/boring etc my 550 we used to compare it to that bike and I used to race him down a fairly straight local lane.
It was a good thing to do..the 750 used to whoop me to start with but by the end it was neck and neck and usually in favour of the 600. But the 600 was alot lighter and better geared of course.

I never ever saw another F2 that colour which I thought was strange, he traded it in the end for a 4 month old crash damaged CBX750 (twin square headlights).

Actually,talk about brand loyalty, Marks bikes from 16 were, Yellow ss50 5 speed, red CB200, Red 400-4, black 400-4, CB750 F2, CBX750.

I was loyal to Honda for 30 years, ending with a VFR800.

It was a good bike.

Then I tried a Triumph...

Now I make a point of trying all the new bikes. When you are 50+ and grey haired, the dealers are happy to lend you the demo bike (sometimes for hours!)

Blackbird
VFR1200
S1000RR
K1300S
R1200GS
All the Triumphs (including the Thunderbird)

As a stonking daily rider, the Sprint has a lot going for it.
