Hi Tomb,
I'm also in South Cumbria,  Kendal to be more precise, riding a 1977 Honda CB400/4.
There's a Classic Bike meet at Wray village near Kirkby Lonsdale on the 1st Thursday of the month with the final meet this year in October. Next year there are moves afoot to hold monthly meets at Crooklands Hotel on the old A65 near Kendal.
There's also a monthly meet in Lancaster tomorrow night of the Lancaster, Lune and Wyre M/C club if you're interested. Pm me if you want more info.
Cheers.
Retired and spending my children's inheritance.

Thanks for the welcome lads.

I'm in Ulverston, Furness Peninsula's. Classic meet sounds good, I assume its on the evening of the first Thursday, bit of a bugger coz my local bike club meet on the first Thursday of the month ::)
I'm a bit busy just now so will have to pass on the Lancaster club night sorry, sounds good though, my missus has loads of jobs for me to do >:( this week, I was at the Jesters rally last weekend (got soaked ::)) and off up to Jockland this weekend on the Yamahahaha so I'd better get some brownie points

I think Yamaha XS1100s a cool.

Blimey someone as weird as me  :D :D

Hi Tomb, welcome to THE club!! You aren`t one of the `hooligans` who have a run around south lakes on old bikes are you? I holiday a couple of times a year and stay in Satterthwaite, not too far from you, been going there for the past 14 years.  I watched about 12 oldies go past when I was walking through Rusland last year. The last bike through was on a trailer:(
I always fancied riding through the lanes, the only time I had a chance and the gearbox packed up on my bike. Been up through the Grizedale on an old Husquvana, quite an experience! I`m back up there in a fortnight, the first week in October but without the bike..
Jealous of your riding country though.

Bleedin 'ell, small world!! yep I know Mr William Woodburn very well, converted a few Magneto bodies from twin lead outlet to single for Velocettes for him. I only see him at Stafford these days.

Err yup! ;D  I also own a '66 Triumph 500 and joined them lads doing the lakes runs, Triumph is in the back of my junk yard I mean garage under a sheet so I now go out with the old boys on my Yam occasionally, that gets up their noses :D :D :D :D

I'm partial to Birker Fell and then on to Hardknott and Wrynose passes meself ;)

I'll do some pics when I have some more time, bloody washing m/c in bits at the mo >:(.

Oooh yes...Hardknott and Wrynose, I remember them well, espescially the brake fade towards the Boot inn(?)!!
Ever tried the Flookburgh track? Watched Foggy there many moons ago, before he was famous.

Not quite so much hair now and its a little whiter.

I didn't see him at Stafford show, he didn't have an autojumble stall but I was told he was there as a visitor by someone who'd seen him.

Do you know Dave Peters (Rocket)

or Bill Haddow, Bill was on the XS1100 club stand with me, Brian Simpson and Joe Divine dropped in for a natter with Bill, I don't know them lads so well, but all Ulverston lads, dya know any of them Mick

None of those names ring a bell, i know a Brian Simpson but he's from Lancaster, used to knock around with a lad called Moonie, but i can't remember if he was from Ulverston or Barrow ?
