I got one too.

They just sent it to their mailing list, whether we had ever purchased anything for that model or not...

Judging by the price of spares they charge- theres a scam in there somewhere or a tidy buck to be earned.

D/S - Dave Silver - the go to company for old Hondas. I expect they want a show bike to publisize their wares and bussiness
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Got the same asking about my 750 K2 - together with a request for a set of handlebars.  They want to copy the 'bars and make their own/re-manufacture . . .

Looks like DS is going back to his roots; I've seen a couple of old articles in which he said he was dealing in complete bikes - imports mainly as far as I can recall - as well as spares.  I would guess that he's looking for more creative ways to increase revenue following the loss of post-2002 business after the court case (see the Misc/Open section).

They've also been flogging off job lots of NOS parts on eBay recently . . .

Just had an email from DS, a follow on the recent request 'sell me your 400f. Apparently he's bought 40, yes folks forty! My first thoughts were must be a typo. We all know restoring one is a challenge but 40. phew! He's now asking for parts that can be restored or new. The rational behind this is difficult to comprehend but I suppose the plan is sell them once restored, most of us know they are a money pit so I can't see a profit there. I sent an email concerning restoration of the instruments but could I cope with 40 pairs, that would take me a year!

Very strange, though I have not heard a peep and I bought enough parts from them for the F1 and F2 to be a major shareholder !

Would agree with spitfire, I have purchased many parts for my CB750 K4...no emails from DS? I know this is very obvious to many hobby/restorers like ourselves, but where is the profit to be made? Are the Americans buying British 400/4s???

There are some images posted on Silver's facebook pages of all those 400 fours and parts removed for replating. It's also mentioned that they are still buying them and are now close to 50! Some of the bikes seem to be fairly good examples, must have been quite an investment here.

Looks like a regular production line, must be to justify bulk buys of pattern parts.

One of the mags in WHSmiths has an article on DS and his 400/4 restoration production line. I think it was in the new magazine - Practical Sportsbike (?).
