CB750 Cafe Racer seat
« on: November 28, 2011, 03:56:31 PM »
Hello all,

I'm thinking of putting the following seat from Ebay on my bike, pictured.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB750-CAFE-RACER-SEAT-/190605504283?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2c60f92f1b#ht_500wt_899

My Question is this : The seat unit that is already on my bike screws directly in to the frame of the bike, however, I believe the original seat was connected to the bike on hinges ?

Does anyone know if that is the case and if so, do you have any suggestions for me ?

Much appreciated and thanks!

Stu

All CB750's had a hinged seat fitted when they left the factory. It depends whether whoever fitted your current seat ground off the studs for mounting the original from the frame as to how awkward it will be to fit the replacement, and also if they P.O cut the lock/plunger socket off the frame. You will need a seat hinge assembly and a lock plunger at the very least, but they are easy to find on e-bay ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

It looks like the lock/plunger unit is still on the frame but the seat hinges are definitely gone.. however - I did just find this on Ebay, I've just asked the seller if it has the hinge assembly with it.. thanks for your reply, Hairy :-)
