F2 Piston rings
« on: April 05, 2012, 09:05:09 AM »
HI Guys

Can anyone out there confirm exactly what p/n the piston rings are for my F2. I've been reading some info on the US site and I.m doubting my own research!!
The engine no is B750GE 1006436. Just below the gudgeon pin hole is printed 392 and a 7. The Pistons appear to be STD.(can't see any numbers stamped on top)  The number I think I need is 13011-392-004.

Also I've been a plonker and wiped off some of my marks on top of the piston.  Does the big 'dot' face fwd or aft on installation?

Thanks

Simon

Thats the correct part number according to the CMS website and supercedes some earlier ones.

Sorry, no idea re the piston markings, am sure an expert will be along shortly :)

The dot on the top of the piston faces forward (exhaust).
The parts manual lists three standard piston rings sets.
13011-392-003 (NIPPON) Serial Number 1004032 Area code. E,ED,F,G
                                                                 2612797 Area code, A,CM,DK,DM,U
13011-392-004 (RIKEN) Serial Number    1004032 Area code. E,ED,F,G
                                                                 2612797 Area code, A,CM,DK,DM,U
13011-392-005 (TEIKOKU) Serial Number 1004032 Area code. E,ED,F,G
                                                                  2612797 Area code, A,CM,DK,DM,U
Area Codes
A - USA
CM - Canada
DK - General Export(KPH)
DM - General Export (MPH)
E - England
EM - European direct sales
F - France
G - Germany
This is not very helpfull but as Waggles states 13011-392-003 and 005 have been superceded by 004 according to the DSS website so it would appear that you have the right number.

Cheers
