CB750 Super Sport. This ain't right.
« on: April 17, 2012, 12:14:40 AM »
Have now stripped the engine completely. It's been rebuilt in its short life (16000 miles on the clock), registered in Sept. 1979 and the last tax disc July 1981. The LH cam carrier has bronze bushes fitted which I have been told was never a factory fit, four of the rockers have been dressed with a stone and there's no chrome on them. There's a chip in one of the barrels, a lovely half moon impression on the top of one of the pistons (guess it was a valve head) and the cranks on its last legs. Here's a photo of the oil pump filtre.
That ain't right, is it? LOL.
Anyway, I am looking for a crank or is there some way to reclaim the original?

OMG! Slight bit of damage then. Sorry I can't help you.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

There are no undersize crank shells available but i believe SEP in kegworth will do it if its at all possible, otherwise i think all the 750 cranks are the same and wear is not  a common fault

Could be interested mick if they are servicable. Give me a price for both mate. Got a lot to get rid of if you or anyone else are looking for F2 parts, wheels, brakes, tank, seat etc. I want to build a cafe racer so I am keeping the frame and engine and a couple of other parts but basically everything else is going.
