CB750 F1 Fuel Tap

Hi All, does anyone know if there fuel taps from other Honda models which will fit the F1 tank with the 20mm threaded fitting? F1 taps seem few and far between and mine is broken off at the gland nut flange, and the nut is missing.

The same tap is fitted to the CB750 K5 and K6, but thay are the only bikes I know of with the same tap, for whatever reason Honda put a smaller threaded tap on the F2! I may have a spare tap on a rusted through tank in my store room, I'll take a look later ;D

Hi Pete, If you have no luck in finding one maybe this will help, I have used mostly on ally tanks but should work on yours, compressor fittings cheep to buy and you can go up or down on sizes then buy a cheap tap with filter or use an inline, I also tend to use thread seal. Might get you out of the poo if you can't find original.

Hi I had the same problem with my K5 looked every where and nothing seemed to fit so had to go to Dave Silvers in the end and spent the thick end of £58 for it .. Very painfully to the old bank balance but it ad to be done !

I found the tap, it could do with a filter kit (£16 from DSS) if you pm me your name/address I'll pop it in the post to you

Sounds like you're sorted, buuuut if you're ever short of a thread gauge use a bolt you know the pitch of, i.e. a standard M10 has a pitch of 1.5mm, slide that up against the (suspected) M20 for a gauge.

Same with any other fine thread bolts you want to measure, use a smaller known thread bolt for a gauge.

e.g. Is it an M10 fine thread on your bike, what pitch?? 1.25mm, 1.0mm. Does a standard M8 fit into the thread nicely or a standard M6?  Standard M8 pitch is 1.25mm, M6 - 1.0mm.
