The Motorbike Show. ITV4
« on: July 05, 2012, 10:01:40 PM »
Anyone watch this?
I couldn't believe the guy just handed over £1400 for an XT500 that he didn't even try to kick.
Apart from that he rides a nice restored CB550K.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

That must be in the second part I haven't seen yet. It must be great to be able to just throw money at stuff.  :o

I watched this with my wife  :)

She said "how much for that old bike then?"
Me: "£500 max"

£1400! There's one born every minute.

I also hate the Motad on his "fantastic" CB550 resto...

They're not known as Moturds for nothing ;D ;D

When they get a few miles on them the header flanges snap off, I've lost count of the amount of them I've welded back together

There aren't many options for the 550. :(  In fact that was the only option when I got it.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a Motad. They do the job, are quiet and affordable.

My issue is with the guy calling it "perfect"

It would have been good to see them fabricate a stainless 4-4 (after all, if they can afford £1400 for a barn find...)

Definitely, if I had his cash I would be looking for something unique.

What a crap website!

To be honest, I'd take my custom to John Campbell in Orpington. I've been to his workshop, seen his stuff and would trust him to make me a stainless system.

I have his "Sidewinders" on my Tiger 1050  ;D
