Hi Stu,
Going on what I have done recently where ever possible stick with genuine Honda they fit and work.Tried pattern stuff like gaskets and they leaked especially the rocker cover.as for carb kits stay away from keyster cause nothing but running problems.
Cheers

Mick,
Your damn right prices all of a sudden have rocketed even the states.Boy I am glad I have bought  numerous gaskets at a cheap rate so touch wood if I need them I have got them.Today which is strange for me bought nearly 200 pounds worth from csnlm cheaper than DSS.ALSO EBAY FR Honda points the pair for 38 euros wont tell you what DSS wants.Long live these bikes.
Cheers

Google 'Supply and demand'  ;) something is worth whatever someone will pay for it.

Stu, my pennies worth mirrors the guys, during my rebuild of my F1 I wasted more money on pattern parts than anything else, this includes cables etc too. Always go for OEM if you can afford it. As for gaskets, I have had success with some pattern ones for places like side covers etc but for head gasket and oilway seals etc its too much of a risk, look up the price of a new camshaft sometime

Recently sorted out the head on the K1. Cost about £100 for head gasket, base gasket and rocker cover. As above, you know they will fit and seal. PITA to remove the motor again and strip to change gaskets again.
Time wise it makes sense, but still bloody expensive.
As they say, you pays your money and takes your chance
