sprocket primary chaine drive cush rubbers
« on: August 22, 2012, 06:26:50 PM »
Good evening,
I read in a topic, which mr AshimotoK0 tried to find a solution for the re manufacturing of rubbers of the shock absorber.
Have you news? On 1000 GL is the same and the not sold as for 750 Four.
Thank you for your answers.

Come on guys need help with this one just cant seem to get my head around this.I assume its a 750 and to be honest for the life me can not recall seeing these.I looked on the parts list and can not see them apart from the primary gear wheel which now is not available.Has anybody got any comments on this you have one in bits etc?I also assume if the shock rubbers are that knackered it would run like a bag of spanners especially transmission.
Cheers

Are we looking at a SOHC hub or something else? What model and year is the bike?
SOHC hubs have completely different damper rubbers

Hello,
On the photo, it is a shock absorber of 1000 GL (for explication) but it is identical in 750 Four. Instead of a big countershaft , there is two in 750 Four.
Rubbers are identical. These parts are not sold by Honda.

Hello,
Thank you Mick and Bitsa, but I shall like knowing if somebody has already tried to redo it and at what price ? I had already read the comment of AshimotoK0 but there is no proposed solution.
At M3 Racing they are 150 $.

Hello,
Thank you Mick. I am amazed that among all the persons renewing the engines of 750 Four, nobody asks the question. There should be little engine redone with replaced rubbers. Especially that the complete part is not available any more.

Mainly because it rarely ever gave any trouble and in 30+ years of working on them have never ever changed one, plus the rubbers were never available seperately from Honda

OK BrianJ, but to see if they are abimés, it is necessary to unsettle or then there are rubbers particles in the engine.
I unsettled 3 and 2 died but noticed once opened.

You could try asking our friends on www.sohc4.net - there are 10x as many of them over there (USA) and someone may have done this in the past.
