blue colour confusion
« on: September 30, 2012, 09:49:47 AM »
Good morning,
I am a new member and new owner of a CB750Four, probably made '76, euro spec. Vin 2578..., and engine no 2467...
The colour is blue and needs to be repainted. Does anybody know if this model was painted Planet blue or Candy Sapphire blue? Where can i find colour codes for the right paint?
The code name for this Vin is K6?
Where can i find the fuel tank's chrome molding kit?
Thanks for your help,
Yannis

Hi Yannis and welcome to the forum, you can still get the chrome trim for the petrol tank from www.davidsilverspares.co.uk

i'm not sure about the paint colour codes, no doubt someone with better knowledge than mine will chime in later  ;) cheers Mick.

I've already seen this site, but doesn't help me a lot, cause my Vin is probably '76 but in that year only Sapphire blue and only UK option? In '76 all the rest 750's Four were Antares red?
Thanks anyway,
Yannis

Yannis, sorry to say ther are no universal paint codes for any Honda colours. You might be able to find out from RS paints, used to be in Bradford but i understand have now moved south. Thay advertise in Classic Bike

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say European designation was the same as UK,and that is the correct colour for your bike  ::) now lets see where the axe will fall, and also Honda colour codes are for getting the correct parts colour of your bike and don't have anything to do with ordering paint colours if you had a k6 parts list it would show you the code for sapphire blue and I'm 100% sure the k6 only came in that colour blue anyway

Dear steff750, from the Vin 2578... and the engine number 2467..., do you come to the conclusion that the bike is a '76er K6?
Thanks,
Yannis

;) yes your bike is a k6 this superceded the k2 in europe from frame #254001~ from 2700009 is the k7 and k5 was usa bike anyway, so really europe and the uk had only k2s and k6s as far as you are concerned hope this helps 8)
