« on: October 08, 2012, 11:45:40 AM »
Hi Folks,

Just wondering do i need the clutch switch to make everything run right ??
My switch wire has snapped where it goes into the lever housing leaving a white plastic piece inside, how does this come out ???

Just wondering,

Hi Stu,

In theory you don't need the clutch switch but its a safety feature and stops the electric starter from working when you are in gear ( always good for a laugh ) If you are happy with that ( I personally would prefer to keep it ) then you can do without. Can't remember off the top of my head whether the switch is normally open or closed but you would either short the two wires together or insulate them apart to make it all work depending on which it is.

Sorry have never taken one of these out, someone who has will doubtless be along soon

Remove the lever blade and push from the outside towards the lever, wires need to be twisted together to start without neutral light on

It is but you may find it cheaper to get a brake light switch off a drum braked small bike like the CG 125 as they are made pattern and the only difference is the wire colour
