Rear brake reservoir !!!
« on: November 04, 2012, 11:10:09 AM »
Hi Folks,

I started servicing and was going to rebuild my rear brake last night and found this

As you can see its in a poor state, how do i get the rod and gubbings out ??
Also if i buy the rebuild kit from DS does it replace all the bits i need ??
The rod does move up and down and there is pressure there aswell in the cylinder ,

Regards
Stu

If you clean off all that crap rust you will find a circlip to remove. The repair kit will contain all the internal seals and probably a piston but not the operating rod and I don't know about the external boot

As Brian says , clean the shite away and you will see a circlip chances are that will be no good and posibly snap, however if the cylinder is still operating and has pressure the chances are you will get away with the rebuild kit which in most cases does come with the rubber boot,
