Kickstart ratchet??

Hi. I've just but the bottom end crank cases back together all bolted up, selector shaft is in and now trying that all gears select correctly before I carry on. As I turn the main shaft by hand in the correct direction I hear the kickstart ratchet. In the other direction the main shaft is locked.  What have I done wrong?

Don't panic i,ve sorted the problem.  Got the kick start ratchet 180 deg out.  Thankfully i could dismantle and reasemble from the bottom without splitting the cases.

Before you go any further make sure that the leg on the mechanism is in the slot in the crankcase where it is supposed to go!!!

The leg is in the slot.  I just had the ratchet 180 degrees out.  all working fine now.
