Float bowl gasket, bring back to life?

Well, my float bowl gaskets have gone a tad hard and have a perminant mark on them from years of being squashed, one or two are leaking. What can I do to freshen them up? New ones are not cheap

Get some new cord and make some new ones far cheaper.
Cord can be easily obtained on eBay.
