Many thanks for letting me join this forum.

I have just purchased a 1976 cb550f and intend to build a cafe racer style machine.  I used to ride cb750's during the 70"'s and always had the ambition to convert one but never had the opportunity due to family commitments etc.  Yup, old timer now but the passion is still with me.

Would like to hear the bike running before the strip down so have removed carbs for cleaning which were extremely gummed up so need new o rings.

Hoping the forum will be a useful resource for spares and services so looking forward to the challenge ahead.  If anybody messages me be aware that my replies may be delayed as i work in areas where internet is not readily available.

Phil

Ps forgot to mention that i am based near Lincoln, UK

And another welcome to the forum Phil, sounds like you've a good plan as I think it's worth trying to run it before work to at least get a basic assessment of condition to get to work on.

Nothing wrong with riding bikes whatever your age in my opinion, keeps us out of trouble as well.

Nigel.
