« on: March 07, 2013, 07:26:33 PM »

Yesterday, I discovered the forum SOHC US and one Mod told me that exists this one  :D

About my bike, my uncle bought it in 1985 in Barcelona and now, is stopped by more than 10 years and I must to repair and restore it

Here you are:

In the future, the bike should be like this:

Well, this is all... Sorry for my mistakes haha and see you in the forum!

Hi Javier, welcome to the site, as time goes on these old Rickmans seem to be getting quite collectable, you certainly do have some work to do if you want to get it original, the main thing is the frame should be Nickel plated, yours is painted, you are missing the fairing and front guard by the looks of things, although these are available from Airtec, looks like you have found a nice bike , i have a soft spot for these bikes, i was starting to restore one myself but have not done much to it yet,

Thanks for yours welcomes  ;)

Firstly, I want to repair the engine and when the bike can starts up, take care with other details as fairing, frame, etc

So, i have a question..

My engine is the same as yours bikes? (750cc Four K5?) or Rickman puts own pieces. I should know this information because is necessary to buy the pieces in the Internet because in Spain there arent bikes as mine..

Thanks!

Well, in this moment my idea is check the engine to know if there are something wrong or not, and if there are something to repair, know the place to buy it  :-\

So, if all the engine is the same as yours, I thing that i dont have any problem.

Hello Javier and welcome to this forum.

I think the engine was a standard (not modified) Honda unless the original owner has changed it at all.

They do look good and are an interesting bike to own as well.....many of these Honda 750-SOHC engines were sold in UK, France and Germany, so you should be able to get parts odered in Europe quite easily.

Definitely try to see if it's possible to get it running and you will be able to see how much work it could need then.

Nigel.

There are differences on engine internals depending on year and model (F or K) so you need to be certain. If its a rickman frame the  frame number will be different, Its worth posting both engine and frame numbers to help us out identifying what you have

according to the US ID book that engine is a 1975 K series for parts. The frame is definately Rickman so Honda parts won't fit

yes, it's a K5 engine.

Well, about the other parts of the frame, brakes, suspensions, etc.  Someone knows where can I find a guide of the Rickman pieces?

Thanks!

If its a UK model its not a K5 its a K2 as nothing between the K2 and K7 was imported, its just a 1975 K2. There is someone still making Rickman frames, you could try Classic Bike magazine
