1975 CB550K1 - Jade Green
« on: June 04, 2013, 09:40:48 PM »
Latest addition to my fleet...just arrived from the US. One owner, 14k miles, stunning condition. Small dent on the tank needs sorting - anyone know any good Paintless Dent technicians who work on bike tanks?

Cant wait to get her out on the road once UK MOT'd / registered..

Yeah is pretty special Pete. Probably the cleanest unrestored 70's Honda I've been lucky enough to own. Had a small bikini fairing on from new, so front indicators were relocated to the headlamp m10 x 25 screw position - so I'll need to sort that as well.
Freshly rebuilt carbs ready to go on - can't wait. I've been looking for one this clean for a long long time.

Love the bike James - exactly what i'm after, can you give any details of how you brought it? was it through a specialist bike importer or did you source it directly from the states?
I'd also love to know what sort of 'ballpark' figure you gave for it - to help me know what i'm aiming for - please feel free to pm me if you want

Hiya James,

I'd also be interested in how you located this bike, how much it cost and how you brought it over. I've always fancied a 550K1 but I don't think they sold them in the UK.

Thanks Busa. Yeah have tried a few but no-one seems to want to touch motorcycle tanks. May have to post the tank off to a specialist firm up north who specialise in motorcycle pdr...

how big is the dent  pic if you can please
I do  repairs  and custom paint work  etc.  on bikes.  if I can see it  can tell you how to go about it yourself.

Here you go Busa. I really want to avoid painting the tank as its original paint and almost perfect (apart from the bloody big dent ha ha...). :-)
