One pipe running straw-coloured

Just done 100 miles now on my 400 and notice one pipe different colour to the rest- rich or week on one carb , gents?
They are new pipes- so its easy to see the difference!

It generally means it's running hot on that cylinder, which is generally down to a weak mixture, if it's discoloured a pipe that quickly it needs sorting asap!
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

If hey are pattern pipes they will discolour no matter what, originals are double skinned to stop the problem

Yes, Id expect them all to be coloured the same. Im now concerned that my problem might be more than cosmetic!
Seriously, that set of carbs has always been a bugger to start the bike when cold, but a gem when hot/warm.
the other set had od running symptoms- both sets had Keyster kits fitted but made the bike run differently.
This set has slight hesitation at 3.5 to 4k but pulls after that effortlessly- I only do about 70mph max on it- mostly 50 mph around the lanes- I did about 70 miles on it today and generally was v pleased with its running.

If one carb is weak then I can only guess the needles too low and that would be caused by the tosser who put the circlip in the wrong groove...I have them off again..
It might also explain the reluctance to cold-start

Have a look at the plug colours to see if they agree with one cylinder hotter than the other 3 as it could help you confirm an error.
