Yes, they are a VERY tight fit when new, I seem to remember sprinkling some talcum powder on the rubbers to make it a little easier to fit the sprocket carrier, although I have also heard of people using washing up liquid ( but seeing as washing up liquid is oil/petroleum based I'm not too sure that's a good idea!
) Whatever you do, DON'T be tempted to use oil or grease, as this will cause rapid deterioration of the very expensive rubber!
