cush drive rubbers
« on: August 01, 2013, 07:24:35 PM »
Hi
I need some help on fitting the cush drive rubbers on the CB750F1, I have got some new rubbers, these are the same as came out, but the others were squished. It seems very tight if you try and push the two parts together, is this normal?

Yes, they are a VERY tight fit when new, I seem to remember sprinkling some talcum powder on the rubbers to make it a little easier to fit the sprocket carrier, although I have also heard of people using washing up liquid ( but seeing as washing up liquid is oil/petroleum based I'm not too sure that's a good idea! ???) Whatever you do, DON'T be tempted to use oil or grease, as this will cause rapid deterioration of the very expensive rubber!
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

Thanks for your advise and help, I was glad you said this as I thought I may have put hem in wrong, or they were not the right ones??
Many thanks
